Department of Foreign Languages Education


The Department of Foreign Languages Education continues its academic activities with the English Language Teaching (ELT) program within the Division of English Language Education. The Department of Foreign Language Education aims to train teachers with high work ethics and social awareness who have adopted lifelong learning as a principle, think critically, constantly improve themselves professionally and personally, and aim to fulfill their responsibilities in society by taking advantage of the developments in science and technology in this direction.

In the professional context, the courses that our teacher candidate students need for language awareness, the development of language skills, literature, linguistics, sociolinguistics, language and culture relationship, and foreign language teaching skills are the core courses of the program. In this context, the teaching program offered in the Department of Foreign Languages Education of our Faculty focuses on field courses such as foreign language teaching methods, the teaching of language skills, the use of technology in language teaching and teaching practice as well as non-field elective courses. Our academics in ELT aim to improve the knowledge, skills and general culture levels of our teacher candidates in the field in the most equipped way in line with the requirements of the age.

Our department serves a dynamic academic staff who are experts in their fields, have adopted modern educational methods and principles, continuously develop themselves professionally and individually by combining their acquisitions with their education, and are aware of the importance and responsibilities of teacher education while training teacher candidates.
