The Department of Science Education started its activities in the academic year of 2015 - 2016, affiliated to the Department of Mathematics and Science Education of the Faculty of Education at ALKU. Department of Science Education provides 4-year undergraduate education. Our graduate students work as Science and Technology Teachers in the schools and preparatory courses of the Official and Special Education Institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.

Education and training activities are carried out in a democratic and participatory environment suitable for the developments and changes in the field, with a dynamic staff consisting of expert lecturers. The main purpose of education and training activities; To train Science and Technology teachers who can think scientifically, research, question and constantly renew themselves. 2 associate professors, 4 assistant professors and 1 research assistant work in the department.

Approximately 80 prospective teachers continue their undergraduate education in the science teaching undergraduate program. In our program, formal education (I. Education) is given. Applications of field courses are carried out in physics, chemistry and biology laboratories. Within the scope of teaching practice and school experience courses, the students of the Department do internships in primary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Graduated teacher candidates can receive academic degrees in master's programs within the scope of the Science Education Department program within the scope of the determined quotas, if they wish.
